The kindergarten held a concert for families, with children performing a variety of dances and songs to celebrate their mothers.

Kindergarten director Bronwyn O’Keeffe said the concerts, with two held over two days, went “really well”.

“They were mother-focused, celebrating our mothers – they were family concerts, but they were celebrating our mothers,” she said.

“There was a nice mix of Mother’s Day songs and some familiar favourites, so that was good.

“The concerts were followed by afternoon tea and gifts, which was nice.

“The children really enjoyed it. It was a special treat having their families to see the kinder and to share it with their mothers, grandmothers and all the special people in their lives.”

Afternoon tea consisted of water and rumballs, which were made by the children on the day.

Ms O’Keeffe said she had received positive feedback from families about the concert.

“We got a lot of feedback with how impressed they were with how the children did in the concert,” she said.

“They were pleasantly surprised at how they had known all the songs, and the joy the children had, which was good.

“They also welcomed the opportunity to come and see the kinder and what their children had been talking about, and to sample their cooking.

“There was lots of happy mothers and grandmothers and well.”

Ruby Hinkley, who has a child attending Baranbali, agreed.

“The concert was really good,” she said.

“All the children looked like they were having lots of fun.

“I think it should keep going. It was very special.”

Ms Bronwyn said the concerts were “happy community days” for the kindergarten, with plans already forming for next term’s grandparents’ day.
