THEY may not have won the premiership last Saturday, but Cobden’s division one cricketers can hold their heads high.

For the first time in 20 years, the Knights earned a spot in the grand final after a composed victory against the reigning premiers, Heytesbury Rebels, the weekend prior.

With Bookaar the first to bat on Saturday, the Knights were keen to take some early wickets in what was anticipated to be a ‘cracking match-up.’

There was only one change to the Knights’ line-up, with Ash Rosolin in for Jack Hutt.

Division one captain Simon Murfett finished the innings with bowling figures of 2/42 off nine overs, while Parker Walsh was effective with 2/15 off six.

Chasing Bookaar’s 9/176 was always going to be tough, with the Knights falling 60 runs short to finish on 116.

Angus Uwland 36, opener Jackson Rock 13 and Matt Harkin 11 were the best of the Knights’ batsmen.

The club is extremely proud of the efforts of all players to get to the grand final.
