CAMPERDOWN’S in-form batsmen proved too strong for Terang last weekend.

The third-placed Lakers took to the crease and made a convincing 212 on the Terang Turf wicket while restricting the home side to 174.

Knocks of 44 from Luke Kenna and 29 from Tyson Royal were some of the highlights of the Goats’ innings, while best of the bowlers were captain Tyson Hay with 4/51 off nine overs and Tim Keane 3/43 from 10.

In division three, the Goats also suffered a round 10 loss, going down to Ecklin by 62 runs.

The home side managed 8/171 on the scoreboard while the visitors ended the day at 3/233.

George Beasley hit a season-high 72 for the Goats before being run out while Caleb Kavanagh contributed 32.

Best of the Terang bowlers were Brett Ambrose 1/17 off two overs, Beasley 1/24 off five and Hugh Giblin 1/37 off eight.

With just three rounds remaining of the South West Cricket division one home and away season, Terang currently sits in sixth position on the league ladder.

Division three has two remaining rounds, with Terang sitting seventh on the ladder.
