CAMPERDOWN and district locals clocked up the laps over the 2021/22 pool season.

Camperdown pool manager Will Elliott said it had been a successful season, with challengers taking on the lap challenge increasing.

“We tripled our numbers roughly,” he said.

“We had two seniors last year and this year we had nine females and almost 20 males.

“In the juniors we had about double again. The kids really got into it.”

Mr Elliott said he is looking forward to the 2022/23 season.

“We’ve got a challenge ready for the coming season,” he said.

“We’re trying to do a team challenge and swim 80,000 laps.”

Mr Elliott said Corangamite Shire’s Jane Hinds presented the 2021/22 challenge winners with certificates at the end of the season, with trophies also awarded.
