COBDENHEALTH is looking to the future with a new chief executive officer (CEO) at the helm.
Leading Healthcare – who also manages Aberlea in Mortlake - took over management of the Cobdenhealth facility about two months ago appointing Bill Tsimis as CEO.
Leading Healthcare managing director Adam Sevdalis was excited to be involved with Cobdenhealth.
“We love the region and we’ve been in the region for some time,” he said.
“We are here for the long term.”
Mr Sevdalis said going forward the top three priorities for the facility were restoring full capacity to the aged care service, growing the homecare network and furthering the medical centre.
Increasing the IT network was also a priority which would bolster the three identified priorities.
Mr Tsimis comes to the role with a background in business as well as knowlesge and insight into the aged care sector.
He said he was looking forward to seeing Cobdenhealth progress.
Mr Tsimis said Cobdenhealth was “uniquely placed” and describing the service as “pretty special”.
“There’s some challenges internally and the financial position makes it difficult and can cloud how we look at things,” he said.
“We need to appreciate the staff we have.
“We also want to get the people that have been here back.”
Mr Tsimis said aged care was the core of what Leading Healthcare covered.
“We also have 160 home care clients,” he said.
“We have an opportunity to grow that, but we need to invest in the great people to do that.”
Cobdenhealth board director Dunacn Morris said Leading Healthcare had been appointed about two months ago.
“There role is to come in and look at the financials of the place and make sure it’s running properly,” he said.
“What we’ve seen so far is they do know what needs to be done.
“We’ve got a lot of great staff here and the struggle has always been management/middle management.
“We have confidence that Bill is the right man for the job.”
