Life membership for Baker
DURING a well-attended presentation night last week, Peter Baker was inducted as a life member of Heytesbury Indoor Bowls Association.
DURING a well-attended presentation night last week, Peter Baker was inducted as a life member of Heytesbury Indoor Bowls Association.
About 70 people celebrated the ‘season that was’ during a presentation evening at Cobden Golf Club last Wednesday.
Peter’s life membership recognises almost 50 years of service to not only Scotts Creek Indoors Bowls Club but also the Heytesbury association.
His willingness to lend a hand so many times throughout those years made his nomination an easy choice.
Peter served as Scotts Creek president for seven years and secretary for nine years.
He has also been Heytesbury president for four years, Heytesbury senior vice-president three years, Heytesbury junior vice-president for seven years and was part of the Heytesbury executive committee for 22 years and Heytesbury match committee for 17 years.
Peter has also represented Heytesbury at the Ballarat Intergroup Championship, Echuca tournament, south west challenge and both the Victorian and national championships.
He was also the markers co-ordinator for the 2015 National Championships held at Warrnambool and wasassistant manager at the 2023 National Championship in Devonport, Tasmania.
This year Peter bagged a bronze medal as skip for the Victorian mixed fours side at the National Championship in Calloundra, Queensland.
The Heytesbury Indoor Bowls Association thanks Peter for his contribution to the association and sincerely wishes him and his wife Roslyn all the best in their next step in life.
