Thomas is a six year-old Birman who went missing a week before Christmas.

Owner Liz Casey said she had grieved for her beloved pet thinking he was gone, but the cat had been seen this week sparking hope.

“He was an indoor cat only,” she said.

“I put notices up and a did a letter drop and heard absolutely nothing."

“Now six months later someone in Barkly Street sent me a photo and said is thisyour cat?”

Ms Casey said another person had seen Thomas and she herself sighted him this week.

She said Thomas was purchased from the Wangaratta RSPCA and had been abused in a previous home.

“He’d been there for three months and had been badly abused and no-one could hold him,” Ms Casey said.

“For 20 minutes I held him and they were amazed.”

She said she had trained Thomas to be a therapy cat.

“It took two and a half years to get him tosit on my knee,” Ms Casey said.

“I’ve had him for four and a half yearsnow.”

In a bid to see her beloved Thomas returned, a reward is being offered.

“He’s definitely a family member, not a cat,” Ms Casey said.

“I rescued him and he rescued me, I really needed him. It was a match made in heaven."

“I want him home, he’s been through a lot.”

Thomas may be in the Barkly and Curdie Street areas of Camperdown.

Residents with any information about Thomas are asked to contact Liz Casey on 0455 720 096.
