Lucky escape for driver
A MAN had a lucky escape after rolling a cement mixer near Simpson last Thursday.
A cement truck driver escaped with minor injuries after an accident.
A MAN had a lucky escape after rolling a cement mixer near Simpson last Thursday.
Camperdown Police acting sergeant Don Camilleri said the single vehicle accident happened at about 8.15am.
He said a man from Kennedys Creek helped the driver out of the cab before emergency services arrived on scene.
“The driver was heading north and came to a left hand bend and it looks like he’s hit a wet patch and flipped at least once,” Act Sgt Camilleri said.
“Investigations are ongoing.”
He said the driver had a sore shoulder, a laceration to the head and was conveyed by road ambulance to the Warrnambool hospital.
Act Sgt Camilleri urged drivers to drive to conditions.
Police urge motorists to take care and drive to conditions.
