Lyons wins at Cobden
THIRTEEN players enjoyed a competitive round of golf at the Cobden club last Wednesday.
Blair Lyons was the winner of the day with 67 points – congratulations to the great grandson of one of the club’s legendary past players, Allie Lyons.
The runner-up was Elaine Telford on 82 points.
Winner of the October medal was Sherine Healey with 78 points while Di McKenzie won the putting with 29 putts.
Nearest the pins: A grade – 4th and 10th Sherine Healey; C grade – 4th Ev Boyd; Camperdown PreMix 7th Carmel Darcy and second shot on the 8th Sandra Mason.
Balls down the line: Sandra Mason 82 points and Jo Hintum 82 points.
Last Saturday’s monthly medal and putting (stroke) attracted a field of 31 points.
S. Rix won A grade with net 71, from D. Bath 73.
B grade was won by T. Gardner on net 69 followed by M. Drayton on 76.
Nearest the pins: 4th S. Rix, 7th D. Bath, 10th Lachie Green, closest second on the second B. Bourke and closest on the 14th J. Walker.
The monthly medal went to T. Gardner on net 69 while H. Green won the putting with 28 putts.
Balls down the line: C. Dobson, J. Walker, C. Sargeant, G. Rix and Lachie Green.
A reminder the chicken run starts this Thursday, October 10.
