CAMPERDOWN’S senior footballers celebrated their second win of the season, defeating Warrnambool last weekend.

In front of a home crowd at Leura Oval, the Magpies defeated the Blues by 42-points, 17.6.108 to 9.12.66, placing them seventh on the Hampden League ladder.

Best for the home side were Zach Sinnott, Charlie Lucas, Judah Dundon, Hamish Sinnott, William Rowbottom and Riley Arnold.

Goals went to Sinnott (5), Sam Gordon (2), James O’Neil (2), Hamish Sinnott (2), Riley Arnold, Jason Baird, Judah Dundon, Jonty Lafferty, Charlie Lucas and Cameron Spence.

In the reserves, the Magpies struggled to get on the scoreboard and went down by 151 points, 23.16.154 to 0.3.3.

Best players were Shane Morgan, Hugh Gordon, Tim Fitzgerald, Nelson Loader, James McVilly and Nick Castle.

Camperdown’s under 18.5 footballers also had a tough day out against Warrnambool, going down by 165-points, 25.22.172 to 1.1.7.

Jacob Somerville was the sole goal kicker for the Magpies while best players were Logan Mahony, Luke Kavenagh, Brock Stephens, Wilba Cheeseman, Tarkyn Love and Lucas Wiffen.

The Magpies also struggled on the netball courts, with only one win recorded for the day along with a drawn game.

Results were as follows:

Open – Camperdown lost to Warrnambool 30-72. Best on court: Piper Stephens and Chloe Davis.

Division one – Camperdown lost to Warrnambool 23-45. Best for Camperdown: Kirby Stonehouse.

Division two – Camperdown drew with Warrnambool 35-35. Best for the Magpies: Rachael Giblett and Jessica Van den Eynde.

Division three – Warrnambool defeated Camperdown 30-24. Best on court: Rachael Giblett, Tanisha Dooley and Hannah Plozza.

17 and under – Camperdown lost to Warrnambool 7-97. Best: Grace Roberts, Holly Bond and Isla Fleming.

15 and under – Camperdown defeated Warrnambool 31-18. Best for the Magpies: Macy Mahony, Indiana Cameron and Isla Nolan.

13 and under – Camperdown lost to Warrnambool 18-30. Best on court: Charlotte Hinds, Elle Mahony and Isabella Wain.

Camperdown will have a bye round this weekend before taking on Cobden for round five on Saturday May 13.
