Man arrested following incident

POLICE swooped on a Camperdown property on Monday afternoon after reports were received about a possible siege taking place.

POLICE swooped on a Camperdown property on Monday afternoon after reports were received about a possible siege taking place.

Camperdown Police acting sergeant Don Camilleri said a report was received via 000 which police acted on.

He said police attended a Ware Street property from about 1.30pm and were on scene until after 3pm.

Act Sgt Camilleri said a 25 year-old man located at the scene was assisting police with enquiries.

He said the alleged offender – a 42 year-old man – left the address.

“The alleged offender was apprehended in Wall Street shortly after,” Act Sgt Camilleri.

The man was charged with unrelated drug offences and will face court in August.

Police from Camperdown, Cobden as well as Warrnambool attended the incident
