Mapgies celebrate 2012 reserves premiership
CAMPERDOWN Football Netball Club will host a 10-year reunion this Saturday to celebrate the Magpies reserves premiership in 2012 when they defeated North Warrnambool.

CAMPERDOWN Football Netball Club will host a 10-year reunion this Saturday to celebrate the Magpies reserves premiership in 2012 when they defeated North Warrnambool.
Over 20 of the players in that premiership side will attend the event, which will conclude with a Q&A session after dinner in the clubrooms.
Current Camperdown reserves coach Stephen Fitzgerald, who was playing coach for the victorious 2012 side, said the event would be one of celebration.
“It’s going to be a catch up to have a few beers and tell a few yarns,” he said.
“We want to get the guys up to the club to support it, hopefully watch the reserves and seniors win.
“The club is struggling a little bit with numbers at the moment, so who knows, once we get a few beers into the guys maybe they’ll want to come back and play again.”
Peter Conheady will host the Q&A session with the 2012 team, and the club invites all players, coaches, volunteers and supporters to join in on the celebration.
“Peter will get around and ask the boys a few questions, jog their memories about what happened through the 2012 season,” Fitzgerald said.
“It’ll be pretty relaxed, full of laughs and good times.”
Club president Aaron Sinnott said the club was looking forward to welcoming many of the players back.
“That team had a lot of great players and good people, and we’re really keen to welcome back some of them that haven’t been back to the club for a long time,” he said.
