Marg takes over
COBDEN and Camperdown Community Bank has welcomed a new branch manager – Margaret McMaster.

COBDEN and Camperdown Community Bank has welcomed a new branch manager – Margaret McMaster.
A familiar face for customers, she has worked within the two branches for 15 years before stepping up into the role of branch manager.
“I am enjoying it, all the staff are very supporting,” Mrs McMaster said.
“I started as the customer service officer, then senior customer and I filled in for the branch manager as well.
“It is a new challenge for me.”
She said the Cobden and Camperdown Community Bank staff and board members were looking forward to the future with new staff starting soon.
“This was started because locals believed there was a need to have banking in the town when the bigger banks were leaving the area,” Mrs McMaster said.
“We’ve been going just over 16 years now and we are excited for the future.
“We’ve given about $720,000 back so far.”
She said the community bank concept sees profits returned to the community.
“We rely on people coming onboard to bank with us, with every financial service be it a savings account, personal loan, home loan, equipment finance, business banking, wealth referral or insurance product the Bendigo Bank shares the profit from these products, for which we can then give back to the community,” Mrs McMaster said.
“All decisions on where our sponsorship contributions are distributed is decided by our board of volunteers.
“We’re always looking for new ideas. I’m also happy to discuss with anyone who would be interested in potentially becoming a board member.”
