McLaughlin on target
IN-FORM Camperdown bowler Jye McLaughlin was on target last weekend, claiming six wickets during the Lakers clash with Boorcan.
McLaughlin was impressive in front of the stumps on Saturday, taking 6/39 from his 10 overs and played a pivotal role in the Lakers attack.
Winning the toss and sending Boorcan in to bat, Camperdown’s bowlers worked hard to stem the flow of runs from opener Henry Moyle, who went on to score 89 before caught by McLaughlin off the bowling of Shivam Gupta.
Max Moor also proved threatening to the Lakers, taking his score to 44 before McLaughlin claimed his second scalp of the day.
Of McLaughlin’s six wickets, four were lbw’s - reflecting his accuracy.
Boorcan went on to make 10/192 in the 46th over.
In reply, the Lakers struggled to make any real inroads on the scoreboard, with openers Shivam Gupta and Dominic Absalom out for 9 and 1 respectively, with middle order batsman Noah Riches top scorer for the side with 43 from 49 deliveries.
The Lakers were 10/139 after 39 overs.
Round three tomorrow (Saturday) will see them at home to Ecklin.
