Mercy athletes shine
MARKEY House has once again taken out the champion title in the house athletics competition for Mercy Regional College.
Mercy students gave it their best at the annual sports day at the Frederick Street Oval last Friday.
Events were held throughout the day including high jump, long jump, discus, shot put, sprints and more.
Markey took out the title with a total of 745 points, followed by Frayne on 716, Tindley 639 and Ryan 499.
MRC sports coordinator Darren Cheesman said it was great to see such a high level of participation, with some records broken and a competitive spirit among the houses.
“Thank you to the staff and students who facilitated the events, ran the barbecue and kept score, and to all the families who added to the atmosphere of the day,” Mr Cheesman said.
