MININERA’S under 13 reserve netballers performed well at last weekend’s western zone championships to reach the semi-final round.

The young Mininera side showed continued improvement throughout Sunday’s tournament.
Results were as follows:
13 and under reserves – Mininera lost to Central Highlands 3-10; Mininera defeated Maryborough Castlemaine 11-2; Hampden defeated Mininera 23-0; Central Highlands defeated Mininera 13-9; Mininera defeated Maryborough Castlemaine 13-4; Mininera lost to Hampden 5-11.
In the semi-final Mininera lost to Central Higlands 9-3.
Mininera’s 15 and under reserves team won one of their five games played.
The team defeated Maryborough Castlemaine 9-8 but lost to Ballarat Pride 14-5, Warrnambool and District 10-7, Central Highlands 16-6 and Ballarat FNL 12-10.
In the 17 and under championship division, Mininera fought hard all day and came away with an 11-11 draw with South West District in round two.
They were defeated by Ballarat FNL 22-1, Maryborough Castlemaine 14-3, Warrnambool District 11-4, Central Highlands 11-6, Hampden 29-0 and Ballarat Pride 18-3.
