Division one was beaten on all three rinks by Winchelsea 71-65.

Ann Scott, Bazil Hammond, Elaine Telford and Loreign Andrews lost 23-19 to Thompson, Littler, Davie and Brandenburg.

Denis Delaney, Sue Couch, Peter Richardson and Brian Howard struggled and were beaten 17-33 by Ward, Johnson, Walker and McConach.

Cobden now sits sixth on the ladder.

Division two lost to Colac 3 on a very slow surface under the dome at the Lakes facility.

Burrell, Panther, Rooke and McNabb defeated Colin Spokes, Claire Reynolds, David Luker and Leon Carrigan 31-16.

Burrell, Dudley, Fennon and Robbins defeated Greg Rooke, Geoff Oens, Patsy Neal and Des Couch 26-20.

Montano, Barrow, Barrow and Riches scraped in over Janelle Rohan, Paul Dwyer, Evelyn Grayland and David Childs 19-17.

This places Cobden second last – sixth spot on the ladder.

Both teams will be playing at home on Tuesday so will hopefully be able to turn the fortunes of the midweek teams around.

Weekend pennant delivered two losses and a draw for a less than desirable outcome for the Cockatoos.

In division two, Cobden was defeated by Colac 2, 104-77 at home.

Darren Mulgrew, Brendan Hamond, Murray Williamson and Tom Robertson went down 15-23 to Casey, Moore, Watts and Conway.

Noah Mungean, Colin Hammond, Greg Rooke and Bazil Hammond managed to get up against Watson, Watson, Murfitt and McCarthy 26-21.

Nick Kemp, David Staggard, Ashley Sinnott and Kathryn Robertson were overcome by Hutchinson, Brown, Murfitt and Halliday 20-33.

Terrene Beasley, Brendan Hutt, Peter Richardson and Lachie Taylor also lost to Paatsch, Neale, Mackay and Salson 16-27.

This places Cobden sixth on the ladder and they will have a tough game against second-placed Winchelsea next week on Winchelsea’s home turf.

Division three had its first loss to a lower placed Central 2 at Central, losing on three of the four rinks.

The only winning rink of Trevor Roberts, Geoff Ovens, Colin Whiteside and Jim O’Shea won 25-10 over Ivermee, Phillips, Hill and Wade.

Bert Strampel, Don Anderson, Colin Spokes and Ken Farquhason lost 15-22 to Dowie, Armistead, Russell and Sanson.

Leon Carrigan, Pat Hickey, Keith Simmonds and Brian Howard lost 15-24 to Armistead, Landon, Isaacs and Barrow.

Richard McVilly, Ken Lynch, David Luker and Kath Spokes lost 12-22 to Tesselaar, Tillack, Osmond and Johnson.

This has dropped Cobden from first place on the ladder to third.

They will now face fourth-placed City on their home ground in round four.

After a close tussle, with the lead changing many times, Cobden drew with Colac 4 under the dome at Colac.

Cobden needed two shots on the last end to claim victory but was only able to secure one.

Joy Beaton, Loreign Andrews, Des Couch and Patsy Neal did well to close the gap to three shots and go down 16-19 to Hutchinson, hay, Ezard and Gormley.

Janelle Rohan, Paul Dwyer, Evelyn Grayland and Janine Hutt won 23-16 over Winchcomb, Riches, Cardinal and Winchcombe.

Doreen Coversale, Claire Reynolds, John Raeside and Blue Giblett lost 19-23 to Barrow, Gourley, Barrow and Maher.

Division four currently sits fifth on the leader after round three.

Cobden will face ladder leaders Cressy next Saturday where, hopefully playing at home, will help.
