Mortlake Bowls
This week in Mortlake built to a crescendo with a few events being wrapped up in a neat little package.

This week in Mortlake built to a crescendo with a few events being wrapped up in a neat little package.
First, we take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made by those who served and are currently serving our country and thank them all for their service on ANZAC Day.
Lest we forget.
Last weekend was massive for bowls action and completes the 2021-22 club championships.
We’ll take a look at the mixed pairs grand final and, after a few false starts, it was a beautiful Saturday afternoon that facilitated a great match.
A good crowd had gathered for the duel between Peter Beardsley and Glenice Kenna in one corner and Dianne Robertson and Alan Wentworth in the other.
Congratulations to the 2021-22 mixed pairs champions Dianne and Alan and well done to runners-up Peter and Glenice.
Next, we turn our attention to the club fours and as we worked through the quarter finals on Saturday morning and semi-finals on Sunday morning the weather was perfect throughout for the club fours grand final on Sunday afternoon.
The team of single entries comprising of Justin Rasmussen, Jim Wallace, Wilma McDonald and Marj Whitson were up against a formidable line-up of Peter Summerhayes, Max Heard, Alan Puzey and Don Murray.
Congratulations to 2021-22 club fours champions Peter, Max, Alan and Don and a valiant effort to runners-up Justin, Jim, Wilma and Marj.
This concluded our 2021-22 bowls season and thanks goes to the players for completing the season despite losing six weeks right at the start and also having to deal with “the thing” along the way.
