MORTLAKE Bowls Club last Friday hosted a mixed triples tournament.

The day attracted 24 teams with the format being four games of five ends – and the competition was fierce.
Eight teams had three wins and one team won each of their four games on the day.
Congratulations to the winning team from Timboon; Arthur and Dianne Finch and Barb Draffen.
The runners-up were George Draffen, Sandi McAlion and Greg Collins with three wins +17 shots.
Well done to all who played on the day.
Last Saturday was the last round of the home and away season for weekend pennant.
Results were as follows:
In division one, Mortlake Blue defeated Port Fairy Red (away) 57-52.
G.Draffen lost to S. Gibb 10-20; L. Johnson lost to R. Mallett 14-19; D. Grant def. S. Cullinane 33-13.
Mortlake Blue needed to win for a place in the finals.
At the end of the home and away season, they finished third and will play the semi-final next week.
In division two, Mortlake White def. Koroit White 64-58 at home.
C. Inverarity lost to R. Farley 15-23; E. Robinson def. P. Elliott 34-11; M. Heard lost to G. Collins 15-24.
Mortlake White finished in fifth at the end of the home and away season and have improved compared to last year.
In division four, Mortlake Gold defeated Port Fairy Black 43-37 at home.
J. Rasmussen drew G. Phillips 18 all; D. Murray def. K. Harris 25-19.
Mortlake Gold has secured second spot with a win at the end of the home and away season and hasalso booked a semi-final appearance.
Congratulations to Mortlake Blue and Gold for making it to the finals this year.
It has been quite the journey for all teams and well done to Mortlake White this season on an amazing turn-around.

Mortlake Blue (div. 1) play City Gold at Koroit: D. Grant (s), C. Goldsworthy, J.Marney, P. Beardsley; G.Draffen (s), P. Summerhayes, D. Dolling, S. Pierce (m); L. Johnson (s), D.McNicoll, R.Draffen, A. Wentworth.
Mortlake Gold (div. 4) play Dunkeld White at Koroit: D. Murray (s,m), J. Wallace, C. Richie, L. Smith; J. Rasmussen (s), K.O’Shannessy, D. Caudle, N. Boyden.
