COBDEN’S Marlin and Caitlin Walsh hope to breathe new life into the Leura Hotel in Camperdown.
The couple, who have run Steakroad Bar and Grill at the Cobden Golf Club, will be moving on from their current premises after signing a lease for the Leura Hotel.
Mr Walsh said they hoped to have the new family friendly space open mid March, with Steakroad Bar and Grill Cobden’s last day of trade Sunday, March 14.
“We’re excited,” he said.
“The pub is beautiful, it’s ready to go.”
Mr Walsh said there would be a number of changes put in place ahead of the re-opening of the historical pub.
“The bistro and lower bar is going to be turned into Steakroad Bar and Grill,” he said.
“We’re putting in a large kid’s room. It’s going to have a family friendly focus.
“The upstairs part will remain the Leura Hotel Accommodation, with 29 rooms ready to go.”
Mrs Walsh said all the same Steakroad family favourites would be on offer at the new premises.
“We will be launching a new menu when we open,” she said.
“We will have an all-day menu available for lunch between 12noon and 2pm and dinner between 5.30pm and 8.30pm.
“We’re just really excited. We’re putting everything into it.
“We’re excited to be on this new adventure.”
The pair said they had enjoyed their time at the Cobden Golf Club.
“It’s set us up to take this on,” Mr Walsh said.
“The business is going to create more job opportunities for the area as well. We will need more staff going forward.”
