Mow-Down draws a crowd
SATURDAY saw an energy packed return of the Camperdown College Mow-Down.

SATURDAY saw an energy packed return of the Camperdown College Mow-Down.
More than 19 mowers were racing on the day, with the drizzly weather failing to deter the competitive spirit among the drivers.
Competitors came from all over Victoria to compete in the now annual event.
Camperdown College Year 11 VCAL student and event spokesperson Eliza O’Neil described the day as a success.
“It was so good to welcome mower racers from all over the state after two years of COVID affected events,” she said.
“Hosting this event is part of our VCAL assessment so with leadership from teaching staff, a group of students plan and organise the event while also preparing our own college mower for competition.”
Camperdown College had two of its own drivers, Joel Ferrari and Isaac Baulch, who proved competitive on the day and brought home a number of wins for the school.
“Our team had great results this year in the C Class with drivers Joel and Isaac both bringing home wins,” Eliza said.
“It’s a great event and we’re really proud to be able to bring this event to the community as part of our studies.”
On behalf of the Camperdown College Community Eliza acknowledged all the local sponsors who supported the event and all volunteers involved.
“We really appreciate it, we would like to acknowledge the help and support they gave us to get our 2022 mow down up and running,” she said.
“It was such a successful day and we were happy to give back to our community by hosting this event.”
