MOYNE Shire council has extended a popular incentive in the hopes of driving tourism numbers over the coming months.

The Stay 3 Pay 2 deal offered across the six caravan parks in Moyne Shire has attracted more than 600 bookings across the parks over the past four months and the average stay of visitors increasing to 2.69 nights up from1.9 nights.
The deal’s popularity has seen council extend the promotion at all caravan parks until Monday, October 31.
Moyne Shire mayor Ian Smith said council believed the rise in guests staying at shire-owned caravan parks was having a positive economic impact local businesses as the COVID-19 recovery continues.
“Booking a few nights away at our caravan parks is the perfect getaway for families and friends to get together and explore all that the Moyne Shire has to offer,” he said.
“We’re thrilled to offer visitors the option to stay an extra night at no additional cost, giving them more of a chance to enjoy the region with its beautiful beaches, iconic landscapes, whale spotting and one-of-a-kind food and beverage providers.
“The Stay 3, Pay 2 deal helps us to promote and attract people to the region and encourage them to experience the beauty and unique offerings of the whole shire.”
The decision to keep Port Fairy’s Southcombe Caravan Park open year round for the first time has also been well received, with more than 500 visitors to the park over four months; a sharp increased from 171 visitors during the same period in 2021.
The caravan parks offer a range of accommodation options from cabins, ‘glamping’ tents, caravans and powered/unpowered campsites.

The deal is not available school holidays or long weekends.
