CAN you imagine winning a brand new car? One lucky Camperdown family got to experience that feeling last week.
The annual Mercy Regional College Car Raffle was drawn on Wednesday, November 30.
The Keally family struck it lucky when its ticket was drawn – with the family purchasing just two entries this year, winning themselves a brand new Renault Captur supplied by Warrnambool Renault.
The family has a long-lasting association with the college, with William finishing Year 12 this year and Matilda going into Year 11 in 2023.
“We have been buying car raffle tickets for many years,” said mother Rachel Kealley.
“We bought two tickets this year and we are beyond excited to have won the car.
“It will be a birthday present for Will who is currently in the process of getting his driver’s licence.”
Will has early offers to do contemporary performance in Melbourne next year. He said he was thrilled to be taking the new Renault with him.
MRC principal Sharon Gillett congratulated the winners.
“We thank our community once again for its support and share that we sold a total of 4733 tickets,” she said.
“The proceeds from this year’s raffle will go towards the purchase of a mobile coffee trailer for our VCE Vocational Major students.
“We thank our generous sponsors and sincerely congratulate all the winners.”
