MRC early bird draw nears
MERCY Regional College (MRC) is preparing for the Early Bird Draw of its annual car raffle.

MERCY Regional College (MRC) is preparing for the Early Bird Draw of its annual car raffle.
The special prize – a $300 MRC school fees voucher – will be drawn at 1pm on Wednesday, August 2 and will go to one of the lucky individuals that have purchased a bundle of 13 tickets for $100 before that date.
MRC business manager Judith Murfitt said people often ask what will happen if they win the Early Bird MRC fees voucher, and they have no children attending the college.
“While our prizes are not redeemable for cash, you can always gift or resell the voucher to a person with a college fee account,”she said.
“If you do not know anyone who attends the college, you may like to donate the fee voucher to be awarded as a scholarship to a student in the 2023 school year."
“It is all about contributing to the fundraiser in the end.”
College principal Sharon Gillet said the annual car raffle is running in its 48th year at Mercy Regional College.
“It has been a significant contributor to the funding of essential learning resources, facilities, and equipment for our students, including a 12-seat minibus in 2020 and interactive furniture in 2021,” she said.
“The funds from this year’s raffle will be used to assist our VCAL students with the purchase of a mobile coffee trailer for their business enterprise ‘Grind & Grow’."
“We are grateful to our wonderful community for its continuous support of our raffle.”
There are 10 prizes to be won in the car raffle, including a Renault Captur, a $2000 Camperdown Betta Home Living voucher, an Apple watch, a $400 Timboon Tiny Homes voucher, and an array of other vouchers from local businesses.
The full list of prizes along with terms and conditions is available on the raffle website https://rafflelink.com.au/mrc-raffle-22.
Car raffle co-ordinator Katya Belokon thanked the many “generous sponsors” involved in the annual raffle.
“We are lucky to live in a community that cares and is willing to support schools,”she said.
“One of the major prizes in our raffle is a Local Certificate that promotes small businesses in our region."
“The certificate consists of several $50 vouchers to the local retailers and cafes in the townships of Camperdown, Terang, Cobden and Timboon."
“A certificate presents a fantastic opportunity for the winner to spend a day out and about enjoying the local vibe.”
The car raffle will be drawn on Wednesday, November 30 at 2.15pm, at Mercy Regional College.
The tickets are $10 each, with special offers of six tickets for $50 or 13 for $100.
Tickets can be purchased online or at one of the local businesses.
