WORKS on a new bridge along Castle Carey Road are nearing completion, with workers sealing part of the road earlier this week.
The Federal Government contributed $2.6 million towards the project through its Bridges Renewal Program, with Corangamite Shire committing $1.6 million towards the project and the State Government pitching in $1 million.
The new bridge is a 67 metre long, nine metre wide, two-lane concrete deck bridge that will be two metres higher than the former single-lane timber deck bridge.
Castle Carey Road is scheduled to reopen to traffic before the end of the month.
