New doctor welcomed
THE Timboon Clinic has welcomed a new face to the staff.
Dr Mariya Mathew has been busy getting to know the Timboon community after moving to the practice recently.
She said she was enjoying the role so far.
“It’s lovely; the people are just so lovely and it’s a beautiful little town,” Dr Mathew said.
“I feel very welcome.”
Moving from Western Australia with her husband and son, Dr Mathew said she was enjoying the change in weather.
“I was in Western Australia in Perth for one year and before that I was in the UK,” she said.
“It’s been a good journey so far.
“We are here to stay. We have family here in Victoria, so we always wanted to be closer to them.”
Dr Mathew said it had been a dream of the young family to settle down in the country.
“Then this opportunity come up; it just came at the right time,” she said.
“We love it here.
“I’m looking forward to interacting with the community outside of the clinic.”
