Warm welcome: Timboon P-12 School welcomed new senior school acting assistant principal Nathan Jones at the start of term three.

Mr Jones began in the role at the start of term three and has been enjoying getting to know the school community.

“It’s been really good so far,” he said.

“The staff have been really supportive.”

Mr Jones comes to the school from Mortlake College P-12, where he has not only taught for the past 15 years, but was once a student himself.

He said the opportunity came up at Timboon P-12 School and he decided to apply.

“I was acting assistant principal at Mortlake this year and enjoyed it and wanted to learn more and upskill,” Mr Jones said.

“It was a big decision to move from Mortlake.

“It’s a six month position and then I can apply for the job.”

Teaching in the PE and Health areas for much of his career, Mr Jones has enjoyed taking on more of a leadership role in recent years.

“For the last six years I’ve worked in the leadership space, including VCE coordinator,” he said.

“I’m enjoying the challenge.

“I’m hoping to focus on relationships with the whole school community and getting to know everybody.”
