New servo bringing back old-fashioned service
CAMPERDOWN will be seeing a return of old-fashioned customer service with the opening of a new locally-owned service station on Monday.
Texan Petroleum will be opening its doors to customers from Monday, December 2 and is set to have the return of fuel attendants as a key point.
Texan Petroleum owner Bob Case said the locally-owned and operated service station aims to look after locals and farmers across the district.
“We’ll have our attendants pouring the fuel into the cars, and also washing the windows – old-fashioned service like it used to be,” he said.
“I felt that the town needed it.
“It’s lacking old-fashioned customer service, and that’s going to be our point of difference.
“We’re not about convenience – coming in, getting your fuel and loading up on chips and drinks and chocolates – it’s about coming in, getting your fuel and talking to a friendly face.”
Mr Case said he was “rapt” and “inspired” to open the Texan Petroleum, which is named after his grandson Tex.
“I’ve had a lot of support from locals and my team helping me get this up and running,” he said.
“I think it’ll be a good thing for the town.
“Hopefully everything goes according to plan – we’ll just be open for business and see what happens on the day.
“We’re just happy to welcome everyone. Come on down.”
Texan Petroleum, located at 4 Thornton Street, Camperdown, will be open Monday to Friday from 8am-5pm, and on Saturday from 8am-12noon.
