NOBTS has emerged as the team to beat in Corangamite volleyball this season.

Two strong wins over Ballbusters and Slugs in rounds seven and eight saw them burst away from the leading pack.

The question remains: Have they gone too early? Only time will tell.

What made NOBTS’ win over Slugs even more impressive was the fact that, earlier in the evening, Slugs had cruised past the Poachers by 3-0, completely rattling the defeated side with the all-round skills of the returning Sam Rix.

Cooriemungle Bulls continued their inconsistent form by losing both matches to NOBTS and Stags.

The Bulls have extra players vying for places on the team and will have to settle into a consistent line-up to be a force in the finals, now only a month away.

Results: Spikers defeated Bulls 3-0; Slugs defeated Poachers 3-0; NOBTS defeated Ballbusters 2-1; Poachers defeated Spikers 2-1; Stags defeated Bulls 3-1; Ballbusters defeated Stags 4-0; NOBTS defeated Slugs 3-0.
