O'Shannessy takes Womens 100 Up Championship

THE women’s 100 Up Championship Grand Final was played last Friday between Gertie MacDonald and Lyn O’Shannessy, with Lyn O’Shannessy taking the win.

In the A Grade Championship news, the Women’s draw Sandra Richie has advanced after defeating Glenice Kenna.

Other matches to be played in the championship are Gertie MacDonald v Wilma McDonald, and Dianne Robertson v Rita Pasque.

The women’s A Grade Final will be on a date to be advised.

In midweek pennant last week, the fourth round was played in division three at home against Lawn Tennis.

Mortlake 1 Purple (division three) lost to lawn tennis 2 Blue 22-48 at home.

Lyn O’Shannessy lost to Marian Treweek 12-27; Dianne Robertson lost to Bryan McLeod 10-21.

The team for Mortlake Purple next week against City Jade is as follows (subject to change):

Mortlake 1 Purple (division three), Val Smith (s), Lyn O’Shannessy, Glenice Kenna, Sandra Richie; Dianne Robertson (s), Gertie MacDonald, Rita Pasque, Wilma McDonald play away against City 8 Jade.

Tuesday Social Pennant also played this week and Mortlake Blue played Timboon away and Mortlake White played Camperdown away with both team winning.

Next week Mortlake Blue play Cobden Black at home and Mortlake White play Timboon at Timboon.

Mortlake 1 Blue (division one) defeated Terang 1 Blue (home) 66-50

Colin Goldsworthy defeated Daniel Morrison 23-22; George Draffen defeated Barry Stonehouse 21-14; Les Johnson defeated Denis Delaney 22-14.

Mortlake Blue are currently on top of the ladder, three points ahead of second place Warrnambool 2 Blue.

Mortlake 2 White (division two) lost to Port Fairy 2 Blue (away) 48-59: Nigel Boyden lost to Stephen Lenehan 9-22; Max heard defeated Andrew Pink 25-11; Justin Rasmussen lost to Hilary Hamilton 14-26.

Mortlake White are currently fifth on the ladder.

Mortlake 3 Gold (division four) lost to Koroit 4 Saints (away) 37-40: Don Murray lost to Brendan Holscher 18-19; Frank Robertson lost to Bernard Murray 19-21.

Mortlake Gold are on top of the table by percentage from second place City 10 Black and third place Dunkeld 2 White.

The Mortlake RSL are having a bowls day on Sunday, November 24, 2024. $7 to play, everyone welcome and proceeds go to the Mortlake RSL to continue their work within our community.
