Open squad announced

HAMPDEN Football Netball League has announced its open netball squad to contest this month’s association state championships.

The HFNL this week announced the open team that will represent the league at the Netball Victoria Association Championships.

The event will be held on Sunday July 24 at the State Netball Centre in Parkville.

Camperdown’s Lily Eldridge and Cobden’s Remeny McCann were among the 11-player squad to be announced on Wednesday afternoon.

Joining Eldridge and McCann will be Maddie Solley (Terang Mortlake), South Warrnambool’s Meg Kelson, Carly Watson, Isabella Rae and Hollie Phillips; Isabella Baker (Koroit), Heidi Jones and Remy Grant (Portland) and Warrnambool’s Sarah Smith.

The team will be coached by Will Jamieson, with Kate Lindsey named assistant coach.

The open team will join the 13 and under, 15 and under and 17 and under HFNL teams who previously qualified for the event based on their performance in the Western Region Association Championships.
