Operation Compass is a state-wide road policing operation running throughout the high-risk Easter holiday period.
Mortlake police detected a vehicle speeding at 142km/h last Thursday morning on Castle Carey Road, Glenormiston.
The 29-year-old female driver from Camperdown was found to have a learners permit and was driving without an accompanying driver.
The vehicle was impounded at a cost of $1295 and the driver will appear in court at a later date.
