Opportunity for residents to meet RAV staff

RESIDENTS interested in the arts are invited to attend a special networking session hosted by Regional Arts Victoria (RAV) next Saturday.

RAV staff will be at the Camperdown Theatre Royal on Saturday, July 27 before the Casting Off performance, which is part of their 2024 touring program.

Before the show, RAV members and friends are invited to mingle and enjoy a pre-show drink in a Member Meet-Up – a series of networking events being hosted by the not-for-profit organisation across the state.

The session will run from 6pm to 6.45pm, giving attendees a chance to find out more about the organisation before Casting Off begins at 7pm.

RAV south west regional manager Stacey Barnes said the meet-up provides residents an opportunity to learn more about what RAV does.

“Member Meet-Ups are a great opportunity to connect with local creative peers and network within the sector, and to see if RAV membership is for you,” she said.

“You can also connect with key council staff and learn about current opportunities open to creatives and stay to enjoy an acrobatic comedy and a community craft session – lots of reasons to join in the fun.”

“One such opportunity is Corangamite Shire Council’s current expression of interest open for a creative practitioner to run a series of lantern-making workshops ahead of the ‘Light Up Camperdown’ event this December.

“The successful artist in residence applicant will be paid $5000 to host workshops and help coordinate the lantern parade, plus has access to $1500 to spend on materials.”

Casting Off concludes with an informal question and answer session, as well as an opportunity to work on craft projects while talking with other creatives.
