THE Cobden and District Orchid Club celebrated a special milestone earlier this month.
Club president Denise Robertson said the club was formed on March 2, 1988 which was attended by 11 people.
“Our shire representative at the time was the late councillor Arthur Matheson who chaired the meeting,” she said.
“A motion was moved for the club to be formed and the club name was the Cobden and District Orchid Club.”
Mrs Robertson said at the March meeting earlier this month members celebrated 35 years.
“Today we have nearly 40 financial members, and we had 25 members attend our meeting and all enjoyed a piece of birthday cake,” she said.
