The P and A Society reported over $40,000 raised through grants to improve the showgrounds, with two key improvements celebrated.

Construction of the all abilities toilet block, funded through the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing, was recently completed.

The toilet, located behind the men’s shed pavilion, will be opened Tuesdays and Thursdays when the Camperdown Men’s Shed and Corangamite Arts Group are running.

It would also be open during events and hired occasions.

Another new addition to the showgrounds was a public access defibrillator, installed on the outside of the main building.

The installation was supported by the FRRR and Nutrien Ag Community Grant and would allow those using the showgrounds to respond quickly in the event of a cardiac arrest.

A grant from the Department of Industry and Innovation has boosted security at the showgrounds, with the installation of a new security camera system.

Roles were also changed at the meeting, with Andrew Graham as president and Cheryl McMahon as secretary.

Ms McMahon said the P and A Society was still looking for a treasurer and encourages residents interested to put their hand up for the role.

“Our annual show in October was financially successful even though the weather was terrible,” she said.

“This was largely due to the wonderful support from the competitors, community and sponsors.

“Thank you to all members and volunteers who contribute so much to the society and have had a significant impact on the showgrounds.”
