Pelicans in top four
BOOKAAR’S division one cricketers are sitting third on the South West Association ladder with just two rounds remaining.

BOOKAAR’S division one cricketers are sitting third on the South West Association ladder with just two rounds remaining.
The Pelicans enjoyed a 21-run victory over ladder leaders Heytesbury Rebels and will no doubt go into the remaining rounds confident of a finals berth and a realistic chance to play on the big day.
Thanks to a season-high knock of 61 from Sam Allen, who was well supported by captain Tim Fitzgerald with 57 and 51 from Simon Baker, the Pelicans finished the day on 6/252.
The Rebels were 9/231 at stumps thanks to some great efforts in the field by the Pelicans and effective bowling spells from Thomas Baker 3/43 off eight, Paddy Baker 2/28 off 10 and Sam Allen 2/46 off six.
Bookaar’s division three side also enjoyed a well-earned victory over the Rebels, going home with a 138-run win.
Bookaar finished on 5/269 while containing their opponents to 10/131.
Jesse Horan was unbeaten on 59, along with an unbeaten knock of 45 from Josh O’Dowd.
Danny Reid had a great day out with the ball, taking 5/13 off his six overs.
Bookaar now sits on top of the division three ladder and will face sixth-placed Camperdown this weekend.
