A PHONE call into a radio competition has led to a big win for two young Camperdown residents.
Taj Woodmason took part in a daily radio competition that presented a Family Feud-style quiz, managing to win $970 for correctly answering the three questions he was given.
Taj said he felt “really good” to win the prize.
“I didn’t think I was going to get it, and I won it,” he said.
“You just ring up and the first one to get through does three questions, and then if you get all three right you get the money.”
His sister Pippa also entered the competition to try and win $260 but got one of the questions wrong, and instead won movie tickets.
Taj and Pippa’s mother Laura Woodmason said Taj is already looking to enter other radio competitions, including going onto a waiting list to get a chance to record a radio segment.
“I’m excited for him because he’s been trying and trying and trying for so long that now he’s actually had an experience as well as being on the radio,” she said.
“That little bit of a reward will keep him going and having another go.”
“It goes up by $10 each day it hasn’t been won, and Taj had been trying for weeks to get through.
“Last Wednesday he was lucky enough to actually be the first call through, which he’s really excited about and he managed to get all three questions right and get the money.”
