Police urge caution
POLICE have appealed for caution after a three-vehicle collision on the Princes Highway last week.
A severe collision occurred when a vehicle turning from the Princes Highway on to Mackinnons Bridge Road was struck from behind and pushed in to an oncoming vehicle.
Terang Police Senior Constable Reagan Silich said the incident had occurred at around noon last Friday, February 21, after a truck struck the rear of a white ute.
“Police believe there was a truck travelling west on the Princes Highway towards Terang,” he said.
“There was a white ute stationary which was turning on to Mackinnons Bridge Road.
“A truck has then collided with the stationary ute, which has pushed it in to oncoming traffic.
“This has caused another collision with a vehicle, a red Tesla, travelling east.”
“There were no significant injuries, thank God.”
An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said one person had been conveyed to hospital for further assessment.
“Paramedics responded to calls to a collision in Terang at around 12.05pm last Friday,” the spokesperson said.
“One person was transported by road to Warrnambool Base Hospital.”
Snr Const Silich warned drivers to be alert at the intersection.
“Just be careful and be aware,” he said.
“Drivers need to be paying attention, especially in this heat.”
Snr Const Silich said there had been no charges filed at the time of publication, and the incident remained under investigation.
