LOCAL artists will have a series of art works on display this weekend.

Pomborneit North Community Hall Committee is hosting an art expo for local artists to display and sell their pieces.

Pomborneit North Community Hall committee member and passionate local Heidi Barling said the displays would range from paintings to woodwork to textile creations.

“There will be plenty of work on display for our community,” she said.

“Our hall is community funded and community operated through a group of volunteers who are passionate about keeping our hall in local hands for use by the local community."

“The art expo is a first for us and was created in response to recognising the talents of our locals and engage the local residents in our local events once again."

“During COVID we like others had to postpone many events and we are glad to be back hosting events in 2022.”

Artists include Susan Boyd, Clive Rippon, John Wright, Emily Gude, Mary Harrison, June Barling and more.

The art show will be followed by further events this year including a trivia night, fun run and Christmas party.

The Pomborneit North Community Hall has served the Pomborneit district for meetings, events and community gatherings since 1902.

The expo will officially open today (Friday) between 7pm and 10pm and open both Saturday and Sunday between 10am and 3pm.

Entry is by gold coin donation and some of the artwork will be available to purchase.

Nibbles will be provided on opening night and the team from Barongarook’s Prickly Moses brewery and winery will be on hand with a selection of their hand crafted beers, wines and cider to enjoy on opening night.
