KOLORA Noorat is holding on to second spot on the Warrnambool District ladder following a huge win over Russells Creek last weekend.
The Power enjoyed a 108-point victory in front of a home crowd at Noorat on Saturday.
Leading from the first bounce, the side was keen to make an early impact on the game, kicking 6.7 to 1.1 in the first term.
The second quarter saw the momentum continue, with strong leads and good use of the ball in the forward 50 rewarded on the scoreboard.
Kolora Noorat went into the main break with a handy 63-point lead.
Adding a further eight goals in the second half, while restricting the visitors to just two majors, saw the final scores at Kolora Noorat 19.25.139 to Russells Creek 4.7.31.
The Powers’ Luke Tebble had a great day out booting five majors while team-mate Sam Uwland added four.
Other goal scorers included Fred Beasley (3), Nick Bourke (3), Justin Wallace (2), Joel Dillon and Scott Judd.
Uwland and Tebble were named among the side’s best, along with Benjamin Moloney, Jarrod Evans, Beasley and Judd.
Kolora Noorat’s reserves enjoyed a 10-point victory earlier in the day in what was a low scoring affair, 6.1.37 to 3.9.27.
Best players for Power were Bailey Kavenagh, Joshua Freeman, Oscar Curran, Declan Barbary, Alex Martin and Tyler Beasley.
Goals went to Declan Barbary, Tyler Beasley, Jack Carlin, Dale Evans, Trent Glennen and Sam Hutchinson.
In what was a clean sweep for the day, the under 18s also had a big win, defeating Russells Creek 16.17.113 to 3.6.24 – placing them second on the league ladder.
Best for Power last weekend were Caleb Kavanagh, Ted Kenna, Curran, Ethan Wyss, Nathan Gee and Jake Molan.
Kolora Noorat’s senior netball team enjoyed a well-earned victory over Russells Creek, 58-31.
Other netball results were as follows:
A reserve – Russells Creek defeated Kolora Noorat 36-31.
B grade – Russells Creek defeated Kolora Noorat 33-28.
17 and under – Russells Creek defeated Kolora Noorat 43-26.
15 and under – Russells Creek defeated Kolora Noorat 27-24.
13 and under – Kolora Noorat defeated Russells Creek 19-13.
This weekend the Power will take on Timboon Demons at Noorat Recreation Reserve.
