WHILE they may not have notched up a win in season 2022, Kolora Noorat’s A grade netballers are “champions” in coach Carolyn Carlin’s book.

“When we started our round one campaign it was with great excitement and the unknown of how the new and young Power A grade side would combine and perform together,” Carlin said.

“It took a fair few rounds to get a complete side as COVID, illness and unavailability impacted our team.”

Carlin said that as they approached the halfway point of the season, they set new goals; to improve, compete to a higher standard and never give up.

“That was all achieved in such an impressive, satisfying way and I honestly could not have been prouder,” Carlin said.

“I’m super impressed with the development and persistence the girls made from round one right through to round 18."

“Their commitment to trainings, to each other and to the club has been unwavering and that’s a real credit to them all.”

Carlin introduced new leadership roles to the playing group in the latter half of the season – giving them all an opportunity to take part of the weekly training session and to name the starting seven for game day.

It was a role they all embraced and thrived on.

“While we didn’t manage a win this year, we all walked away from the court each Saturday winners in so many ways,” Carlin said.

“It has been an absolute honor to get to know, coach and be part of the journey in their 2020 season – to Kaylee, Alex, Ashlee, Jess, Sophie, Natalie, Eliza, Ruby and Isabelle – thankyou; you’re all champions.”
