The Power defeated Timboon 42-32 in last Sunday’s elimination final and will now face Merrivale in this Sunday’s semi-final at Davidson Oval.

A grade coach Laura Bourke said she was absolutely “thrilled” with her side’s performance, with everyone playing their role across the court.

“It was a very exciting game for us all and I’m so proud of all the girls; they all put in 110 per cent and it paid off,” she said.

“We finished strong and had a great fourth quarter; we went into the game relaxed and knowing what we needed to do and all the things that we’ve been working on over the past few weeks really came together.

“Matilda and Lillie were strong in the goal circle, Ailish was amazing in defence and Meg and Hannah also dominated the mid court.

“Everyone who took to the court really worked hard and it was a great overall team effort. The hard work is paying off at the right end of the season.”

Bourke said her goal at the start of the season was for the team to go one better than last year and they had already done that.

“We’re thrilled to be playing a semi-final; we’re at full strength and all 10 girls will be there Sunday ready to go,” she said.

The Power will face Merrivale in Sunday’s semi-final.

When the two sides met back in round eight, the Tigers won by 16 goals, and the most recent clash (round 17) the gap was brought back to 14.

Bourke said finals were “a whole new ball game and the slate is wiped clean”.

“Anything can happen in finals so we’ll be going in there with a positive attitude and we will focus on what we do well and play our own game and hopefully the result will fall our way at the end.”

Kolora Noorat’s 17 and under side has also progressed to the semi-finals after defeating Merrivale 41-29 in last Saturday’s qualifying round.

They will face Allansford in the semi-final on Saturday.

The 13 and unders had a successful home and away season to reach last Sunday’s elimination final.

After an exciting match, they were defeated 25-19 by Dennington.
