TIMBOON’S under 15 footballers are 2023 premiers.

After finishing the home and away season in second place on the Warrnambool and District League ladder, just percentage behind leaders Russells Creek, the Demons had a thriller at Reid Oval last Saturday.

Going into the second quarter five points behind Allansford, the Demons were able to add two majors to the board and went into the main break just three points down.

A solid third term, which saw the Demons add 2.3 to their score while containing the Cats to just one behind, saw them head into the final quarter with a handy 11-point lead.

Final scores were Timboon 6.9.45 to Allansford 4.3.27.

Oscar Norman, Jarrod Ferguson, Finn Castledine, Joshua McKenzie, Hugh Smith and Tayne Berry were named best for the Demons.

Goals went to Norman (2), Castledine, Caius Cuthell, Zane Potter and Rileigh Williams.

Timboon’s under 18s also had a stella season, finishing second behind Kolora Noorat after the home and away rounds, but fell 55-points short of premiership glory against the Power last Saturday.

The Demons fought hard all day but but were held scoreless in the second half.

Final scores were Kolora Noorat 10.8.68 to Timboon 2.1.13.

Among the best for the Demons were Taj Field, Eben White, Daniel Ryan, Daniel Shanahan, Troy Groves and Taj Quarrel.

Luke Gale and Leroy Steere kicked one each for the side.
