Premiership team reunited
THERE was plenty of laughter and tall stories shared when the 1982/83 Pomborneit Green premiership side celebrated its 40th anniversary last weekend.

THERE was plenty of laughter and tall stories shared when the 1982/83 Pomborneit Green premiership side celebrated its 40th anniversary last weekend.
All 10 living members from the side, along with Barb, wife of the late Ken O’Neill who captained the team, enjoyed a reunion at the Pomborneit clubrooms last Saturday.
Many laughs, stories and the odd tear was shed as each player spoke about their time at Pomborneit and about the 1982/83 decider which Pomborneit Green won over Carpendeit at Port Campbell.
Green, with John Hall scoring 129 and Anton Boyd with 80, made 290 before bowling Carpendeit out for 89.
Opening bowler Bruce Roberts was the destroyer of the day, finishing with figures of 5/22.
