Preps all Smiles

LOCAL schools have welcomed 68 new Prep/Foundation students to class for the 2023 year.

LOCAL schools have welcomed 68 new Prep/Foundation students to class for the 2023 year.

St Patrick’s Primary School saw 30 Foundation students walk through its gates for the year, who will be under the guidance of teachers Michael Saunders and Pru Darcy.

Ms Darcy said students started the school year on Monday, January 30.

“It was exciting, they were all fantastic and settled in really well,” she said.

“We’ve got lots of siblings this year.

“They were all great.”

Camperdown College welcomed 36 new Preps who will be taught by Kim Robertson and Sage Bolton.

Mrs Robertson said the 2023 Prep classes began their school year last Thursday.

“It’s been really good; they are all very confident little people which is great,” she said.

“The kinder transition program has been really good which has allowed us to have a relationship with them.”

Derrinallum P-12 College welcomed four Foundation students to the school last week.

“It’s going really well,” teacher Chloe O’Brien said.

“They are starting to learn some of their letters today (last Thursday).

“They are very excited.”

Lismore Primary School welcomed six new Prep students this year.

Prep to Grade 2 teacher Liz Johnstone said the students began on Monday, January 30.

“It went really well,” she said.

“They have settled in well and are happy to be at school.”
