Preps enjoy their first day
LOCAL Prep/Foundation students officially put on their school uniforms for the first time.
Fifty-one local youngsters were greeted by the school bell across as they started their schooling years last week.
Timboon P-12 School welcomed 24 new students under the guidance of prep teacher Linda Ludeman.
She said the first few days of school had gone smoothly.
“Last Thursday was their first full day of school,” Ms Ludeman said.
“They were very excited and enthusiastic.
“They all settled in very well. The kindergarten has prepared them very well.”
Down the road at Cobden Primary School, 17 Foundation students sat down in the classroom for their first days with teacher Kerryn Guthrie and education support Tayla Hickey.
“It was a great first day,” Mrs Guthrie said.
“There was lots of energy and excitement.”
And at Simpson Primary School, Prep teacher Maddison Mcinnes said 10 new Preps attended their first day on Tuesday, January 30.
She commended staff at the Simpson Kindergarten in preparing the students for the school year.
“They settled in very well,” Ms Mcinnes said.
“They are all doing really well.”
