Presentation day for Tigers

WOORNDOO Mortlake Football Netball Club trainer Heather Erwin has been named the club’s ‘Volunteer of the Year’ for season 2024.

Heather was presented with the award at the club’s annual presentation day, held last Sunday.

“The award took me by surprise but I am very honoured to received this,” she said.

Netballer Lily Schurring was presented with the club’s Jenny Mahncke Memorial Award while Mason Dale received the Kath Grant Memorial.

The club’s best and fairest vote count was also held during the day for senior and junior footballers and netballers.

In the senior football, Matthew Pemberton was named the club’s best and fairest, with Brent Fedley finishing runner-up.

The reserves’ best and fairest award was won by Matthew Bourchier ahead of runner-up James Henry.

In the netball vote counts, A grade best and fairest was won by Sadie Lienert, followed by runner-up Brooke Richardson.

The coaches award went to Nicole Anderson while Elise Killen received the best in finals medal.

B grade best and fairest was won by Jaime Killen, with Shona Makepeace the runner-up (and best in finals).

The C grade best and fairest trophy was awarded to Letitia Howat, while the coaches award went to Holly Trajcevski and Sam Hearne was named runner-up best and fairest.

18 and under – best and fairest Lucy Carmody and Elise Killen; runner-up Mia Richie and coaches awards went to Lily Schuuring and Annabelle Glossop (also named best in finals).

15 and under – best and fairest Ava Wardlaw, runner-up Ella Macdonald and coaches award Bella Wardlaw.

Junior netball umpire awards were presented to Ava Wardlaw and Natalie Krepp.
