Quality field at Mortlake

LAST Saturday’s aggregate stableford attracted a quality field to the Mortlake Golf Club.

The day was a secret draw for partners.

The winners were Paul Wareham (10) 32 points and Gary Glossop (23) 41 points, from runners-up Peter Palmer (9) 39 and Steve Hubbard (1) 33.

The best individual score went to Gary Glossop.

Nearest the pins: 3/12: Tony McLennan, 6/15 Kevin Etherton and 9/18 Peter Palmer.

Balls down the line: Dougal Ranken, Kevin Etherton, Ian Jubb, Wes Wareham, Andy Lamont and Richard van Diemen.

On Friday a nine-hole twilight was played.

This was won by Steve Hubbard 10-42-32, with Ian Jubb runner-up on 16-49-33.

Third was Peter West 21-55-34.

Nearest the pin on the ninth: Ben Boers.

Next week’s event will be stroke monthly medal.
