Sineth brings a wealth of experience to the club, having played first-class cricket in his home country before moving to Melbourne where he has since played Premier Cricket with Greenvale and sub-district cricket prior to that.

“We’re really happy to have Kalhan sign with the Cats for three years; he will add to our depth and is a welcome addition to our division one side,” club captain Todd Lamont said.

“Kalhan will also be our assistant coach (to Steve Black).”

Sineth comes to the club as a talented spin bowler and middle order batsman.

His long and impressive list of statistics includes taking 120 wickets across four seasons of sub-district cricket.

Mortlake Cricket Club president Simon Ritchie welcomed Sineth to the Cats late last week.

“We’re thrilled to have him sign with us and are really looking forward to seeing him work with our sides,” he said.
