Rail trail temporarily closed
A SECTION of the Camperdown-Timboon Rail Trail has been closed to allow for temporary repair works to be completed.
A SECTION of the Camperdown-Timboon Rail Trail has been closed to allow for temporary repair works to be completed.
Camperdown-Timboon Rail Trail committee chair Pat Robertson said it was expected the section between Merretts Road and the Trestle Bridge closed earlier this month.
The section has been closed due to the condition of a number of the food bridges.
“It will be closed until the temporary repairs are done,” Mrs Robertson said.
“We’re hoping that will only be three or four weeks.
“The temporary repairs are to make it structurally safe.”
Further closured would also be needed when the bridges get replaced.
Mrs Robertson said the committee was sorry the closures were necessary.
“For the safety of the public we need to close it for safety reasons,” she said.
